Prototype Carbon Steel Pan – 28 cm

Ever since I had my first carbon steel pan, it has become my favorite piece in the kitchen. I always thought I should make one myself — with more character, more beauty, and a more artisanal feel. This is the beginning of that project: the very first prototype.

The body is made from 3 mm carbon steel, produced together with a local company that created custom tooling specifically for this project. The handle I forged myself from solid iron, and it’s attached with copper rivets, hammered one by one in my workshop.

Unlike the production pieces I’ll make later, this one is unique — a one-off made to test the design and process. It comes pre-seasoned, but I recommend giving it one more seasoning at home before regular use, so it develops a stronger protective layer.

You can expect small marks and imperfections from the forging and assembly. To me, that’s what makes it special: it carries the story of being the very first.
